Historic milestone made possible through the humble sacrifices of Majlis Ansarullah UK. With profound gratitude to Allah the Almighty, Majlis Ansarullah UK is honoured to announce the blessed inauguration of Bait-ur-Raheem Mosque in Cardiff, Wales, by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah be his Helper) on Sunday, 23rd November 2025. This landmark event marks the first purpose-built Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque in Wales, a beacon of mercy and peace for generations to come.
This project stands as a living testimony to the truth of the revelation vouchsafed to the Promised Messiah (as):
“وَسِّعْ مَکَانَکَ” – “Enlarge your House.”
Alhamdulillah, through the prayers of our beloved Imam, the sacrifices of Ansar across the country, and the grace of Allah, this blessed house of worship has now been completed.
A Journey Rooted in Sacrifice and Steadfastness
The vision for a mosque in Cardiff began in 2011, following Shura recommendations. Huzoor-e-Anwar (aba) graciously granted Majlis Ansarullah UK approval to take full responsibility for funding the project.
Key milestones:
- 2014/2015: Purchase of an office building in Cardiff city centre after years of searching for a suitable site.
- 2018: Planning permission granted after overcoming strong opposition, won on appeal through resilience and prayer.
- 9th September 2023: Foundation Stone Ceremony led by respected Amir Jamaat UK, Rafiq Ahmad Hayat Sahib, using a brick prayed upon by Huzooraa.
- 2024–2025: Construction completed entirely through Ansarullah’s financial sacrifices, prayers, and unwavering commitment.
From the very beginning, this project was 100% funded by Majlis Ansarullah UK, making it a unique and historic trust between Khilafat and the Ansar of this blessed Jamaat.
A Mosque Built for Worship, Peace, and Humanity
During the inauguration event, Huzoor-e-Anwar (aba) profoundly reminded all present of the true purpose of a mosque:
“Where our mosques serve as a place to worship Allah, they also serve to foster peace, compassion and harmony throughout the world.”

This mosque now stands as a symbol of that very mission — a mission Majlis Ansarullah UK strives to uphold through its service, charity work, and dedication to the welfare of others.
A Beacon of Mercy for Wales
Bait-ur-Raheem is not merely a building; it is the fulfilment of over a decade of prayers, sacrifices, and steadfastness. Its name — House of the Merciful — reflects the Islamic values it will promote: peace, compassion, service, and moral upliftment.
The mosque includes:
- A main prayer hall (capacity approx. 250–270 worshippers)
- A community hall (150 capacity)
- A lower hall (150 capacity)
- Total worship capacity of approximately 550 worshippers
Set in the heart of Cardiff, the mosque will serve not just as a sanctuary for worship but as a centre for interfaith harmony, community outreach, education, and humanitarian service.
A Tribute to the Spirit of Sacrifice
Majlis Ansarullah UK expresses heartfelt gratitude to all members whose financial sacrifices, prayers, and voluntary efforts made this blessed project possible. Many brothers donated repeatedly and quietly, seeking only the pleasure of Allah.
Huzoor-e-Anwar (aba) has reminded us:
“When you spend purely for the sake of Allah — to attain His pleasure — then it is His promise that He will remove your fears and your grief, grant you tranquillity of heart, and take you into His loving care.”

Honouring the Legacy of Early Ahmadi Muslims in Wales
The inauguration also reconnects us with our early history in Wales. Ahmadiyyat first reached Cardiff over a century ago, with Mrs Mabel Emma Ali (Safia) accepting Islam Ahmadiyyat in 1920. Today, with the opening of Bait-ur-Raheem, their prayers bear new fruit.
Moving Forward With Humility and Resolve
In his concluding remarks at the inauguration, Huzooraa reminded the local Jamaat:
“It is your duty not only to worship Allah in this mosque, but to strive to bring peace to the world and to be ready to make sacrifices for the greater good of mankind.”
