By the Grace of Allah, the Masroor Region held its annual Ijtema on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, at Chessington Sports Centre. The event brought together Ansar brothers from across the region for a spiritually uplifting and activity-filled day.
Morning Session – Spiritual Start
The day began at 9:00 AM with registration and breakfast, where attendees enjoyed a delicious traditional meal consisting of Chickpea Curry, Aloo Anday, Halwa, Naan Bread, and Pink Tea.
At 10:00 AM, the main session commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Shoaib Nasir Sahib, Zaeem Malden Manor. This was followed by the Urdu translation by Harris Malik Sahib and the English translation by Mazhar Manan Sahib.
Kashif Sethi Sahib, Nazim-e-Ala Masroor Region, then led the pledge, followed by a heartfelt nazm recited by Najam Qureshi Sahib.
Two inspiring speeches marked the highlight of the session:
- Respected Imam Ata-ul-Mujeeb Rashid Sahib delivered a powerful address on the theme of the Ijtema: “Belief in the Unseen.”
- Sheikh Rafiq Sahib spoke on the topic “Beacon of Peace,” offering valuable insights into the peaceful teachings of Islam.
The opening session concluded with du’a (silent prayer).
Academic Competitions
After the morning session, the academic competitions began, including:
- Tilawat
- Nazm
- Prepared Speech
- Extempore Speech
These competitions provided a platform for Ansar to showcase their knowledge, oratory, and spiritual insights.
At 1:30 PM, Zuhr and Asr prayers were offered in congregation, allowing attendees to spiritually recharge before the next part of the day.
Sports Competitions
The afternoon was dedicated to sports, held on the grounds of the sports centre. Activities included:
- Shot Put
- Race
- Penalty Shoot-Out
- Tug of War
These events were filled with energy, teamwork, and healthy competition, highlighting the physical aspect of a balanced Islamic lifestyle.
Closing Session – Reflections and Rewards
The closing session began at 4:00 PM, chaired by Sadr Majlis Ansarullah UK, Mirza Waqas Ahmad Sahib. It opened with the Tilawat by Tariq Tahir Sahib, followed by the pledge led by Sadr Sahib himself, and a nazm by Waseem Ahmad Sahib. Nazim-e-Ala Ijtema Farid Ahmad presented the Ijtema report and Nazim-e-Ala Kashif Sethi Sahib gave vote of thanks to Nazim-e-Ala Ijtema and the entire Ijtema commette and Zomas for their efforts towards making this Ijtema
This was followed by the prize distribution, where Sadr Sahib personally handed out awards to the winners of both academic and sports competitions. He then delivered an inspiring closing address, reflecting on the significance of unity, service, and steadfastness in faith.
The session ended with du’a, marking the formal conclusion of the Ijtema.
Lunch and Refreshments
A delicious lunch was served to all attendees, featuring:
- Chickpea Curry
- Haleem
- Roast Chicken
- Naan Bread
- Sweet and Savoury Rice
Throughout the day, refreshments were made available, including:
Sandwiches, Rooh Afza, Cake, Tea & Biscuits, Nimko/Mixed Nuts, Bananas, and Apples.
