Event Overview

Alhamdulillah, Majlis Ansarullah Burton upon Trent successfully held its Annual Local Ijtema 2025 on Sunday, 1st June at our Baitus Saboor Mosque. The Ijtema was well-organized, spiritually uplifting, and thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees.


🛠️ Planning & Preparation

  • The date was confirmed during the April 2025 General Meeting.
  • Zaeem Sahib formed an Ijtema Committee including:
    • Nazim Ijtema
    • Food Preparation Team
    • Activity Co-ordinators
    • Judges
    • Advertising & Setup Team
  • Multiple planning meetings were held in the lead-up.
  • Site preparation began at 9:30 AM with active participation from all teams.

📋 Schedule of the Day

  • 10:30 AM: Registration
  • 10:45 AM: Opening Session
    • Chaired by Zaeem Adnan Majeed Sahib
    • Included Tilawat, Pledge, and Nazm
    • Overview of the day’s academic and sports activities

🏅 Sports Competitions

Held in the mosque’s multi-purpose hall:

  • Darts
  • Pool
  • Carrom Board
  • Table Tennis
  • Arm Wrestling

Five co-ordinators were appointed to manage the events efficiently.


🕌 Spiritual Session

After Zohar prayers in congregation, Murabbi Abdul Ghaffar Ahmad Sahib delivered a brief but inspiring talk on this year’s Ansarullah theme:

“Belief in the Unseen”


🍛 Ziafat (Lunch)

A delicious lunch was served, including:

  • Lamb Curry
  • Roti
  • Kheer (Sweet Dish)
  • Tea throughout the day

All guests appreciated the efforts and taste.


📚 Academic Competitions

Held in the main mosque hall and judged by Murabbi Abdul Ghaffar Sahib and Fareed Sahib (Leicester):

  • Tilawat
  • Nazm
  • Prepared Speeches (English & Urdu)
  • Extempore Speeches (English & Urdu)

🧡 Final Session – Circle of Brotherhood

The final session was led by Naib Sadr Lutfur Rehman Sahib in a unique and informal style:

  • All Ansar were seated in a circle for introductions and personal interaction.
  • Naib Sadr Sahib gave motivational words and shared personal reflections.
  • Prizes distributed for academic and sports competitions
  • Special awards presented to:
    • Murabbi Sahib
    • Judges
    • Naib Sadr Sahib
    • Two new Ansar joining from Khuddam

The programme ended with silent prayers, followed by team-based cleanup.
