Alhamdolillah we held an interfaith event at Baitus Saboor Mosque in Burton Majlis at East Midlands.
We were visited by 22nd Burton on Trent (St Marks) Scout Group – Winshill – 9th February at 6:45pm. They have got in contact with us on our social media page on Facebook. They have been viewing our Facebook account with all the community work we do and reached out to us. The work that we have been doing on social media has borne fruit and inshallah will continue further.
As part of one of their badges they need to explore a culture they are not familiar with. So they have reached out to us. They visited us this Monday 9th at 6:45pm.
We started the programme with Tilawat by Nasir Kiani sahib, An introduction about Islam by Syed Raheel Zakria sahib, an introduction about Ahmadiyyat by Nazime Ala Sharjeel Nasir Sahib, Questions were read out Jordan Mann sahib. Murrabi Abdul Ghaffar sahib took the questions. The programme was chaired by Sadr Manawar uddin sahib. The event finished with silent prayer followed by lunch of chicken pasta, ice cream and some drinks.
After lunch the programme continued where the scouts were allowed to observe the members do their Salat. After the prayers, the parents had come to collect their children. We met the parents and thanked them for allowing the children for attending the mosque. The children really enjoyed and appreciated the experience. Words of gratitude were shared.
We had attendance of 18 guests (including men, women, girls & boys), 13 Ansar, 7 Lajna, 4 Atfal & 6 Khuddam. A total attendance of 48 Alhamdolillah. The event was successful.
