Alhamdulillah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, Glasgow South continued its community service and outreach activities during July 2026.
On 3 July 2026, members, accompanied by Murabbi Fakhar Sahib and Sadr Glasgow South, attended an event organised by the BJO Amara Group, a charitable organisation, to mark the opening of its new branch in Glasgow’s West End. The event provided a valuable opportunity to meet members of the local community and strengthen relationships with other charitable organisations. Among those present were Chief AMU, Chief Chebe, creative and performing artists, and Pastor Sage.
On 10 July 2026, the Association donated fruit, water, pasta and a bag of clothing to Gowrie Care Home, Southside branch, for people experiencing homelessness. The donation was received by a staff member, Lizzie. An email was also sent to the service manager confirming the donations, together with a link to the Jama’at website.
On 12 July 2026, members participated in a community gardening project organised by our neighbours, the Yorkhill Green Spaces Group, at Overnewton Park, Kelvinhaugh. Members worked alongside local residents and contributed towards improving the local green space.
Alhamdulillah, these activities demonstrate the Islamic spirit of service to humanity, community engagement and building positive relationships with our neighbours and wider community.
