Assalam o Alaikum
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Ever Merciful

By the Grace of Allah the Exalted, preparations for the local Ijtema of Norbury Majlis began several weeks in advance. The date and venue were confirmed, and on 10th March 2024, members were informed and eagerly awaited the event.

On the day of the Ijtema, proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the assertion of the pledge and a Nazm. The opening session was graced by Sheikh Rafiq Sahib from the National Ansarullah Amila, who addressed the members on the theme of the Ijtema: ‘Righteous Servants.’ He emphasized that becoming a righteous servant is the ultimate theme of life, achieved through two main avenues: worshipping Allah the Exalted and spending in His way.

Sheikh Rafiq Sahib shared a moving incident from the Masroor Eye Hospital, where a lady was able to get married after her mother’s sight was restored, Alhamdulillah. He also mentioned the establishment of a new general hospital. He urged members to support this noble cause by committing to regular contributions, suggesting a standing form for a donation of £5 or more. Many members responded positively, filling out the forms and pledging their support. The session concluded with silent prayer, followed by the commencement of academic competitions.

The competitions included a Taleem ul Quran quiz, Tilawat, Nazm, Prepared Speech in Urdu and English, and Extempore Speech in both languages. These activities fostered a spirit of learning and friendly competition among the members.

In the final session, following Tilawat, Pledge, and Nazm, Respected Shakeel Butt Sahib from the National Amila of Majlis Ansarullah spoke about the Cardiff Mosque project. He narrated how, by the Grace of Allah, we received unexpected support from a non-Ahmadi Muslim who had ties to Ahmadiyyat since childhood. He encouraged members to contribute to this important project, emphasizing the blessings and rewards of supporting the House of Allah.

The Ijtema concluded with silent prayers, leaving members inspired and motivated to continue their efforts in righteousness and community service.
