Beacon of Peace Charity Walk & Fun Run – Scotland Region (2025)
With the grace of Allah, Majlis Ansarullah Scotland Region successfully hosted its annual Beacon of Peace Charity Walk & Fun Run on Sunday, 7th September 2025 at Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.
- Participation:
Over 150 men, women, and children took part in the 5K challenge, promoting values of peace, unity, and compassion. - Opening Ceremony:
The event was officially launched at 10:30 AM by Hon. Martin Rhodes MP (Glasgow North). - Promotion & Awareness:
The event was widely promoted through social and digital media, reaching thousands across the UK. - Pre-event Charity Dinner:
A fundraising dinner was held on 31st August 2025 at Glasgow Mosque, where pledges over £8,000 were secured. - Funds Raised:
- Total raised so far: £15,000
- Target by year-end: £20,000
- Beneficiaries:
All donations will support Scottish charities, including:- Macmillan Cancer Support
- CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland)
- Beatson Cancer Charity
- Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity
- Crossbasket House
- Humanity First UK
- Afghan Women Empowering Futures
- Masroor Eye Institute
- Ibrox Primary School, Glasgow
- Closing & Refreshments:
The event concluded with refreshments and a communal lunch enjoyed by all in the park.
