With Allah’s blessings, Majlis Ansarullah Scotland holds its regional annual Ijtema on Sunday, 10th May 2026. The theme of the Ijtema was “Durood & Istighfar.”
An Ijtema committee was formed well before the event, and a promotional campaign was executed in all the Majalis of the Scotland region. Zuama from all three Majalis—Glasgow, Glasgow South, and Edinburgh contacted everyone with the syllabus and program of the Ijtema.
These sports competitions were held before Ijtema Day: badminton singles and doubles, table tennis singles and doubles, football, shot put, 100-meter sprint, and tug-of-war.
After registration and breakfast at 10 a.m., the opening session commenced, chaired by Dr Abdul Hayee Sahib, Regional Amir of Scotland. Following the recitation of the Holy Quran and its English translation, Waseem Ahmad Goraya Nazim e Ala, Scotland region, led the Ansar pledge, which was followed by a Nazm. Murabbi Sahib Fakhar Ahmad Aftab delivered a speech on the theme of the Ijtema. The opening session concluded with a silent prayer, followed by a brief presentation from the Rishta Nata department.
The academic competitions included Tilawat, Nazm, Prepared Speech in English and Urdu, and Extempore Speech. After lunch and the Zuhr/Asr salat, Ahmad Owusu Konadu, chairman of Beacon of Peace Scotland, talked about the upcoming charity walk to be held in Edinburgh.
Raja Burhan Ahmad Sahib, Qaid Isha’t of Majlis Ansarullah UK and representative of the Sadr Majlis Ansarullah UK, chaired the closing session, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Nazm. After the Ansarullah pledge, Nazim-e-Alaa Ijtema Ahmad Owusu Konadu presented the Ijtema report. The prize distribution took place, where prizes included medals, books, and trophies awarded to the winners of sports and academic competitions.
The chairman of the meeting delivered the concluding speech on the theme of the Ijtema, followed by silent prayers, and a group photograph was taken. The attendance breakdown was as follows: Majlis Glasgow 30, Edinburgh 10, Glasgow South 37, and Guests 15, totalling 92.
