On the 18th of February, 2024, the South Cheam chapter of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya hosted its Local Ijtema, a gathering marked by fervent prayers, insightful discussions, and a showcase of talents. Themed “Ibadullah as-Saliheen” or “The Righteous Servants of Allah,” this event was a profound exploration of faith and community spirit.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the day commenced with the Fajr prayer at Baitul Ehsan Mosque, attended by ten dedicated Nasir. The venue, adorned with thematic decor and a welcoming book stall, set the stage for a day filled with enlightenment and camaraderie. Breakfast at 9:00 AM warmed the attendees, setting a tone of fellowship.
Opening Session
At 10:00 AM sharp, the inauguration ceremony unfolded in the Noor Building, graced by distinguished chair members:
- Imran Ikram sb, Murabbi Silsila Ahmadiyya
- Sabahuddin Najm sb, President of Jama’at South Cheam
- Fakhruddin Babar sb, Zaem Ansarullah South Cheam
The ceremony began with the beautiful recitation of the Quran (Tilawat), followed by insightful speeches on the virtues of the righteous and the resilience required of Ahmadis in the face of adversity.
Academics and Sports
The morning further blossomed with academic competitions in Quranic recitation, poetry, and speeches, evaluated by esteemed judges. This intellectual feast transitioned into spirited sports contests, including Shot Put, Ball-in-the-Basket, and Basketball, demonstrating the physical vigor of the participants.
Closing Session
Post-competitions, attendees were called to prayer and a communal lunch, fostering a sense of unity and gratitude. The closing ceremony was a culmination of the day’s achievements, with prize distributions celebrating both academic and athletic excellence, highlighted by a special award presentation.
The South Cheam Local Ijtema of 2024 was not merely an event but a beacon of hope and spiritual renewal for the Ahmadis. It served as a reminder of the power of faith, the importance of community, and the endless grace of the Almighty. As the day concluded with prayers, hearts were undoubtedly closer to each other and to Allah, reinvigorated to face the challenges and blessings of the days ahead.
