Community Action Day – 2nd May 2026

As part of Discover Islam Month, Ansar from Burton Majlis helped organise a Community Action Day in the village of Winshill, where Baitus Saboor Mosque is located. Alhamdolillah, the Winshill community were very appreciative of our service and support.

Alhamdolillah, by the grace of Allah, we had the opportunity to take part in a litter-picking initiative in the Parish of Winshill this morning. We worked alongside local residents of Winshill and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The Community Action Day was led by Cllr John Batten, and Borough Cllr Dennis Fletcher guided and coordinated the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Together, we covered the streets surrounding the Winshill Resource Centre, collecting a large amount of litter.

Items collected included cans, bottles, cigarette waste, plastics, toilet paper, clothing items such as socks, pieces of wood, cones, and other rubbish.

In his opening remarks, Cllr John Batten commended our Jama’at for regularly supporting local initiatives and consistently taking part in Community Action Days. He expressed his appreciation for the continued contribution and support provided by the community.

We also invited members of the wider community to our Eid Party, which will be held at Baitus Saboor Mosque at 7:00pm on 8th May 2026.

A total of 10 members took part in today’s event.

JazakAllah for all your prayers and support. May Allah bless you all, Ameen.

Wassalam,
